The Amalgam Age of Comics

In 1996 and 1997 DC and Marvel temporarily put aside their differences and released a bunch of titles under the Amalgam Comics banner. The two companies worked together and created crazy, mixed up jumbles of some of their best characters. I've decided to see if I can create some new Amalgam characters using the magic of Photoshop! If you have an unofficial DC/Marvel mash-up that you'd like to see, just let me know!
Lar Gand escaped the planet Daxam and rocketed to Earth with the intention of establishing himself as a hero! Unfortunately the crash landing addled his mind and he was easily manipulated into using his ion powers against Earth’s heroes by the evil Ultra Zemonite. The Zemonite had discovered that exposure to lead was fatal to Gand and promised him regular doses of a temporary cure in exchange for his aid. Gand soon regained his senses and helped the heroes defeat the Ultra Zemonite. With their help he cured his lead poisoning permanently. Feeling that he had shamed his original name, Gand chose a new name…SIMON-EL!After years of protecting the Earth, Simon’s lead poisoning returned. He fell into a deep catatonic state and was placed in suspended animation where he remained for centuries. Then in the 31st Century…… The original art is from Superman #694 (2009) and is by Cafu.
